Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, however you may get a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP to receive a medicare rebate after therapy sessions.

2. What is the cancellation policy?

We understand that things happen unexpectedly, we ask that you give us more than 48 hours' notice when needing to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you provide less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged the full fee. If you provide notice between 24-48 hours within business days, you will be charged 50% of your fee. To cancel an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. You can text or email, that way the appointment can be offered to someone else as sessions are in high demand. Please note that Medicare and most other third parties do not allow people to claim the rebate for non-attended appointments, so there will be an out-of-pocket fee.

3. How is my personal information stored?

Personal information is gathered in order to provide high-quality and individualised support. Prior to your first appointment you will be asked to complete an online intake form, which outlines our consent and confidentiality policy. Please retain a copy for your records.

Your information (such as contact and payment details) are collected via the intake form and are stored securely and privately on our practice management software (Zanda). Payment details are only accessible to your clinician in order to process your payment and Medicare rebate (if applicable). Payments will only be processed following your appointment or in the event of a late cancellation (in accordance with our policy provided to you in the consent form).

Your psychologist will write clinical notes following your session which are also stored on Zanda. This is a medical and health records requirement and allows your psychologist to provide accurate psychological assessment and support.
